This Is Easy

While writing a blog post is hard, loving new life is easy. This is a pic from Christmas 2020 of Warren at our home holding Deke’s and Sarah’s precious second child Emma. Her tutu and his shirt tell the story of how love crosses all generations and health differences. He is nearing his end-she is just beginning her journey.

I told you writing a blog post for me is hard. It still is. But you know what is Easy? Seeing, feeling, experiencing LOVE in its most unconditional incarnation- a newborn child, an elderly relative. Watching Warren gently hold Emma; watching Emma so comfortable in his embrace- huge to her, masked because of Covid, double prosthetics, scarred from surgeries.. none of it mattered to either of them. Love was the language they spoke; love was the language they shared without words. Christmas 2020 was a very special year at the Hathaways for we were all reminded of what is truly important- and fleeting. Hard is always there, right around the corner. But Love illuminates the darkest crevices of our souls and makes us remember the miracle of Christmas. A child, just a child…changes our hearts and souls.. Remembering the blessings…
